The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, or APEC, is the premier forum for facilitating economic growth, cooperation, trade and investment in the Asia-Pacific region.  APEC has 21 members. The word 'economies' is used to describe APEC members because the APEC cooperative process is predominantly concerned with trade and economic issues, with members engaging with one another as economic entities.  To learn more about APEC, please click here.

	Australia is Michigan's 3rd largest Asian partner.
	Brunei Darussalam is one of the members of APEC.
	Canada is Michigan's largest market.
	Chile is one of the newest trade treaty partners of the U.S. with no duty on US Imports.
	China is Michigan's fastest growing Asian market.
	Hong Kong is a special administrative region of China and a significant market for Michigan.
	Indonesia is the largest Muslin country.
	Japan is Michigan's largest Asian customer.
	Korea is a long-time Michigan customer.
	Malaysia is an important trading partner in the APEC Alliance.
	Mexico is Michigan's 2nd largest trading partner.
	New Zealand, although a small market, is among the easiest to enter.
	Papua New Guinea is the smallest member of APEC.
	Peru is a member of APEC as well as a potential member of future trade agreements in the Americas.
	Philippines have long had a unique relationship with the US.
	Russia is a member of APEC.
	Singapore's position as a free port and electronics powerhouse makes it a Michigan customer.
	Taiwan is one of the largest markets for US products.
	Thailand is now one Michigan's "top 20" markets with a rapidly developing automotive industry.
	Vietnam is one of the newer members of APEC.
